Miss Katja

Studio Director and Office Manager

A little about Ms Katja

Miss Katja spent most of her childhood performing on Norwalk's own Towne and Country stage. Her love of dance, musical theater, and singing led to many performance opportunities from childhood through young adulthood. That passion for the Arts continues today as a dance Mom for the last 13 years, and most currently, as the Office Manager and Studio Director for Iconic Dance Company.

Outside of the studio, she is a wife, a Mom to four daughters, a Nani to nine grandchildren, and a licensed social worker. She likes to meet people with a warm smile and an occasional hug. This translates into being the official supportive and encouraging "dance mom" for the entire Iconic dance family!

Miss Julie

A little about Ms Julie

Miss Julie grew up dancing, starting at the age of 4. Jazz was her main focus until high school, when she discovered her passion for hip hop. After graduating in 2005, Julie attended Kent State University as a dance major, danced for the Cuyahoga Falls IBL Dance Team, and became an instructor at her studio for six years before it closed. She continued to pursue her love for dance education by teaching ballroom dance in classes and for private students.

In addition to her dance classes, Julie also teaches yoga. She has found a passion for integrating these two worlds to help build stronger and safer dancers.

Fun Facts

Miss Julie loves animals and has 3 dogs, Mera (Great Dane), Leo (Great Dane), and Tucker (Mix). In addition to her passion for animals, she also enjoys dance education and takes dance classes in her free time, often hanging out with her chickens and ducks.

Miss Julie first taught competitive dance classes in 2021 and has since instructed 4 solos, a duet, and multiple group dances, emphasizing the importance of dance education.

Miss Alexis

a little about Ms Alexis

Miss Alexis has been a part of the dance world for 26 years, dedicating 10 of those years to teaching dance classes. Growing up as a competitive dancer, she now shares that same passion for dance education with her students. Miss Alexis takes pride in expanding her dance knowledge by attending workshops and conventions, including SYTYCD and Greg Russell.

While Miss Alexis has a deep love for teaching Jazz, it has recently been outranked by her passion for Contemporary. She truly enjoys the breakthrough of raw emotion and connection to the music.

fun facts

Miss Alexis started taking dance classes right here on Main Street in Norwalk. Her studio, which focused on dance education, was named Dance Impressions and used to be right where Lonz Law Firm currently resides.

Though Miss Alexis has no children (aside from her dance kids), she often finds herself managing her sassy cat named Valkyrie and her new kitten, all while balancing her busy schedule of dance classes and dance education.

Miss KRISTINA

a little about Ms Kristina

Ms. Kristina is a high school PE/Health teacher with a deep passion for dance education. She cheered for Norwalk and trained at Northstar Dance Center for seven years, competing for six of those years. During that time, she developed a strong foundation in performance and technique. In her very first year of teaching, she was honored with a choreography award at StarPower Regionals—a testament to her creativity and impact in the studio.

Kristina continued her journey at Ohio University, where she was a dedicated member of the OU Vibrations dance team. She served as the team’s social media chair and later as vice president, further showcasing her leadership skills. Kristina earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology along with a certificate in Performance Wellness, emphasizing injury prevention to help keep dancers and athletes safe and healthy.

Her love for dance began at a young age, and she always knew it would be an integral part of her life as an educator and mentor. Today, she combines her academic background and artistic passion to inspire and support the next generation of dancers.

fun facts

Miss Kristina took an ancestry trip to Poland to learn more about her family’s heritage. She visited Prague, the Warsaw castle, and Auschwitz. Her favorite part of the trip was learning how to make pierogi’s from scratch, which inspired her to explore dance education in Polish traditions, including local dance classes.

did you know?

Miss Kristina is the middle child of 5 girls! She also almost pursued a career as a dance athletic trainer after taking numerous dance classes, which fueled her passion for dance education.

Miss SUMMER

a little about Ms Summer

Ms. Summer brings over 12 years of combined cheerleading and dance experience, with a deep-rooted passion for movement, mentorship, and team spirit. Throughout high school, she was a dedicated varsity cheerleader for both football and basketball, where she not only led crowds with energy and poise but also competed at the state level—honing her athleticism, discipline, and performance skills in high-pressure environments.

Her true joy lies in working with young athletes through dance education, helping them build strong foundational techniques while instilling confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love for cheer and dance. Summer is known for her encouraging coaching style and her ability to connect with students of all levels, creating a supportive environment where everyone feels empowered to grow during dance classes.

Outside the studio, Summer thrives in her role as a professional hairstylist. With a natural flair for creativity and a genuine love for people, she uses her skills to help clients feel their best—whether it’s through a bold new look or a simple, uplifting conversation. Her work in the salon complements her coaching by deepening her ability to listen, inspire, and foster self-expression.

When she’s not coaching or styling, Summer enjoys life’s simple pleasures: long walks, quality time with friends, getting lost in a good book, and cuddling up with her charming (and adorably clingy) tuxedo cat, Bean.
